In November 2017, the Royal Observer Corps Benevolent Fund (ROCBF) was absorbed into the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund (RAFBF). This is a positive step.
Since 1945, the ROCBF has proudly provided assistance to former members of the Royal Observer Corps (ROC), and their dependants, in times of need, hardship or distress. This support will now be offered through the RAFBF.
Indeed, as they will become members of the RAF Family, former ROC members and their dependants will be eligible for a much wider range of support.
The absorption of the ROCBF into the RAFBF will safeguard this important welfare service for many years to come.
It is reassuring to us, the ROCBF Trustees, that the RAFBF has made this commitment, so that support will always be available to those who once served.
